Running errands and daily services between community members

Help with errands and daily services between trusted persons, Guardiens mutual aid

Doing groceries for an elderly person in the local area who can no longer drive. Accompanying someone to a doctor's appointment. Helping to fill out an administrative form. Picking up medication from a pharmacy on a Sunday morning.

These small services make a real difference in the daily lives of many people. And they don't require a professional structure to exist, just an available and trusted local person.

Guardiens is not a home care agency

Let's be clear: Guardiens does not replace professional personal assistance services (ADMR, approved associations). For medical care, regular interventions, or situations of dependency, professionals are essential.

What Guardiens offers is something else: local people who provide one-off services, freely, without a commercial framework. Exactly what naturally existed in local communities before we all stopped knowing the people around us.

    Examples of daily tasks

    Grocery shopping

"I have to house-sit this week, can someone do my shopping Saturday morning at the Croix-Rousse market? In exchange for a good home-cooked meal."

    Administrative assistance

"I need to fill out a complex CAF application and I'm lost. Is there someone patient and comfortable with administrative tasks in the local area?"

    Accompaniment to medical appointments

"Appointment with the specialist Thursday morning in Caluire, I'd need a ride. I can cook in exchange."

    Receiving a delivery

"Important delivery Tuesday between 9 AM and 1 PM, I'm at work. Can someone receive it at my place and store it for a day?"

The profile of Guardiens helpers near you

Many Guardiens members are active retirees who have time and enjoy human contact. Others are students or young professionals working remotely, available during the day.

These profiles find in small tasks a simple way to connect with their local community, and often, these relationships lead to other forms of mutual aid, including pet sitting.

For detailed instructions (in-kind exchange, steps, legal framework), see our guide to small mutual aid tasks.
