Writing a good listing: what attracts good guardians

The description: make it appealing

A listing is also a portrait of your life and your pets. The best guardians are looking for an experience, not just a task.

What makes it appealing:

• A sentence about your pets (personality, habits, what they like)
• A sentence about your house or local area (garden, quiet, close to a park, view, atmosphere)
• What you specifically expect

What discourages:

• A list of prohibitions without context
• A suspicious or distrustful tone
• No information about the pets

Example that works:

"Luna is a 4-year-old Golden, social and used to strangers. She loves long walks and sleeps with the cats. The house has an enclosed garden near Parc de la Tête d'Or, ideal for mornings. I am looking for someone who is present during the day and comfortable with large dogs."

Expectations: be precise

Clearly indicate:

• Desired presence during the day (yes/no)
• If live-in care is required or if the guardian can leave during the day
• Plants or garden to be maintained
• Basic household tasks expected

Guardians who apply to a clear listing are better suited than those who apply to a vague listing and discover the expectations later.
